About
Hi! I write songs, play several instruments (lots of drums and percussion), and record music in my family studio aptly named The Barn. I write and record music for ads and tv, and am a member of the indie rock band Talkie and pop duo Ziggy Hamilton with my brother. In my free time, I enjoy drinking coffee with my wife, playing with my kids, and riding bikes when I’m not breaking bones.
Studio
I record using Pro Tools and a bunch of outboard gear from API, Audioscape, SSL, Hairball Audio, Classic Audio Products, DBX, etc. Drumwise, I record with all sorts of vintage and modern kits, snares, tympani, rototoms, rocket toms, a toy glockenspiel, percussion odds and ends, bells and whistles, etc., that work well for different types of projects. I use lots of microphones (dynamics, condensers, ribbons) and techniques, but I find that pointing the microphone at the thing seems to work pretty well.
